Protest art installation at the New York City College of Technology (CUNY)–where I work in a windowless office in a windowless library–in response to the college administration’s inadequate response to concerns about ventilation and COVID during the January 2022 Omicron variant surge. Window frames were constructed out of recycled cardboard and paper mache. Painted backdrops were created by the artist, Bill Zeman. Windows were installed by myself and my student Aiesha Bennett in four windowless, poorly ventilated locations on campus. All windows were accompanied by captions reading:
Windows Upgrade Notice 2022
This window was installed to help protect students, faculty, and staff from COVID19
